The large marble plaque on the side of the road does not mark the geographical centre of Taiwan. To reach it, you have to climb another 50 metres or so, which leads you to another plaque, erected at the place that marks the geographical centre of the island. The whole thing is not very interesting in itself and is more anecdotal than anything else, but the surroundings can offer a nice walk in the surrounding forests or along the river just north of the site.
