GENTLEMEN'S LANE
Some fifty meters long and barely 70 cm wide in places, the name of this little alley literally translates as "allee des frotte-poitrines" ("chest rub alley"). It was so nicknamed in reference to its narrowness, which made it impossible for two people to pass without touching shoulders - hence the need to face each other to pass!
