CIHHUEI TEMPLE

The temple of the "Golden Mother" is a Taoist sanctuary, which worships the same divinity as its neighbour of Sheng An, but whose faithful belong to a different sect. The legend surrounding the creation of this temple dates back to the end of the Second World War, when the "Golden Mother" is said to have appeared to heal the sick. On the 18th day of the ^second lunar month, thousands of pilgrims parade into the temple to cure their chronic illnesses with prayers and offerings.
