In reality, there are more, but the number nine expresses abundance. It is at this level of the road that construction was most perilous. A series of tunnels and half-tunnels were cut into the marble cliffs over a distance of 1.9 km. The route can be explored on foot, and much of it is off-limits to cars. One of the best places to admire the gorge, and pay tribute to the insane work of those who sought to tame it. Some of them were badly damaged during the earthquakes of April 2024.
