"Sham Peng Tong, general merchant." It is written as it was written in the past, on a façade that for generations has only been repainted. We are here in an old "Chinese" shop, a shop with a tin roof and wooden shutters, and old-fashioned shelves. Just opposite, the high building of the... Sham Peng Tong Plaza, property of the same family, this recent commercial complex sheltering notably on the ground floor a shop which sells dry biscuits, cookies and crackers: for our Chinese of Albert Street, the trade... it's a piece of cake!
