PRASLIN MUSEUM
A Seychelles museum of the arts and popular traditions: the beautiful idea! But it would be up to the state to give it body, not to a simple Seselwa. Which, Steve Esther, a former landscape designer in Lémuria, did what he could, but from there to announce a "Praslin Museum"… We are here slightly behind the road leading from Baie Sainte-Anne to Côte d'Or, a young Praslinois who simply devoted two parts of his villa to what he called a museum. In this case, some enlarged old photos and some objects related to the Seychelles of the colonial era, rat trap, toys and musical instruments… Steve also plays botanists by explaining the medicinal virtues of endemic plants: the dimeric sagaye (to remove evil), the bwa (against diabetes) or the dimeric sousouris (for abortion)… About sousouris (souris), there are a good dozen in the big cage, where you can enter the time to get scared… and a photo. A cage that is actually the major attraction of this "museum" with the two giant turtles in the paddock. In short, an address full of good intentions, but rather disappointing, especially for such a price.
