This koubba (a monument built over the grave of a marabout), or mausoleum, was built in the early 15th century by one of the many disciples of the saintly Abd el Kader el Djilani. He was a patron saint of Muslim cannoneers during their war against the Spanish who occupied the city. Every year, the mausoleum and its history are celebrated.
