PALACE OF CULTURE AND PLACE ZEDDOUR BRAHIM
Palace of Culture designed by architect Wolf in 1920 in the Art Nouveau style, representing the work of the earth.
On this square stands the Palace of Culture. It was designed by the architect Wolf in 1920 in the Art Nouveau style, as evidenced by the beautiful frieze, depicting the working of the earth, at the top of the building. The Palais de la Culture was originally the colonist's house, and Albert Camus refers to it in his writings. Until the 1980s, the picturesque Karguentah market was also located on the square, but was destroyed by fire.
