DISCO MAGREB

This black-and-yellow building in downtown Oran is famous for having been the cradle of raï, an Algerian musical genre born in the early ^20th century. Unfortunately, this former music cassette store, named after a local record label, is now closed and in a state of disrepair. It still attracts many visitors every day, who come to photograph themselves in front of this now mythical place, which regained popularity after the release of a video clip by French-Algerian DJ Snake in May 2022, and the visit of Emmanuel Macron in August 2022.
