MARCHÉ DE M'DINA JDIDA

This very popular market is a must-see in Oran. It stretches almost as far as the eye can see in the new town, which it is eating up more and more, so much so that the district seems to be emptying of its inhabitants. The long Rue du Figuier, which crosses it from end to end, serves a series of more or less specialized alleyways, some specializing in leather goods, others in fabrics, bridal stores, jewelry, copperware... Also worth a visit: the Sidi Okba market, selling a wide range of spices, fruit and vegetables.
