TOMB OF SIDI BOU ISHAQ EL-TAYYAR
Tomb of a great saint known as Abu Ishaq el-Tayyar or "the flying man" built under the Merinids in Tlemcen.
Abou Ishaq et-Tayyar or "the flying man" was a great saint, renowned for his feat of spending twenty-four years without sleep in order to pray. Built under the Marinids, only ruins remain of what is presumed to have been the tomb of this marabout who died around 1300. They do, however, hint at the gracefulness of the original monument, which stood near a spring. These enigmatic ruins occupy a knoll at the end of a small road running through former cemeteries.
