HÔTEL DE L'ÉTOILE
A century-old Michelin-star hotel offering simple, clean and charming rooms, all with balconies.
The Hôtel de l'Étoile, formerly the Royal Hôtel, is a century-old small hotel with just 15 rooms that has just reopened its doors after several months of renovation. Nestled in the heart of the city, it is decorated with tasteful antique furnishings and boasts a breathtaking view of the square and the port. It's easy to see why Portuguese President Manuel Texeira Gomez chose to reside here for 10 years, from 1931 until his death in 1941. His room is still intact. Warm, refined service. An address not to be missed.
