This tomb, famous for paying homage to Sidi Touati, is a holy and sacred site in the hills above Béjaïa.
On the Gouraya road, high above Béjaïa, the tomb celebrates the memory of Sidi Touati, the 12th-century founder of a Muslim university open to students until the 19th century. The Koubba, or zaouïa, was a school that attracted many scientists from different parts of the world during the Hammadite era. Considered a holy place, it served as an "atypical" place of pilgrimage. Even today, the zawiya of the marabout of Sidi Touati remains a sacred place in the eyes of the local population, and is often visited.
