EL-KANTARA BRIDGE
A 128 m long, 125 m high bridge over the Rhumel linking the rock of Constantine to the rest of the world.
One of the oldest bridges, originally a Roman aqueduct that carried water from Djebel El-Ouach to the cisterns of the old city. It was for a long time the only one to connect the rock of Constantine to the rest of the world, several times destroyed or damaged and then rebuilt with the remains of the ruins of the Roman amphitheater. Its current appearance dates back to 1863, when the new bridge was inaugurated, rebuilt near the railway station after its collapse during the passage of a French infantry detachment. It is 128 m long, 125 m above the Rhumel.
