ANNOUNA
Roman ruins east of the Constantine-Annaba road, consisting of column shafts and gate structures.
The Roman ruins of Announa, the ancient Thibilis (Numidian town), are located east of the Constantine-Annaba road, a few kilometers south of Guelma. If you're travelling by car, make sure you stop off to soak up some of Algeria's history. There's not much left to see, apart from a few column shafts or door structures opening onto the solitude of the site, but it may be an opportunity to pause for a moment... Excavations in the early 20th century uncovered a small forum, a market, a semblance of a basilica..
