This state-owned hotel in Beni-Abbès is famous for having been the setting for several scenes in the film Un thé au Sahara.
The state-owned hotel, taken over by the chain created by the Hotel Aurassi, enjoyed its heyday when it was the setting for several scenes in Bernardo Bertolucci's film Un thé au Sahara, shot in the late 1980s and based on the novel of the same name by Paul Bowles. The establishment, which had fallen into disrepair, was recently restored. It now offers comfortable, spacious rooms, a restaurant and a beautiful pool facing the dunes, ideal for watching the sun set over the desert. A good option in the small town of Béni-Abbès.
