Since the death of Abderrahmane Bahamou, known as "Arouj", at the end of December 2009, his son Bahamou Mohamed Houar has taken over the running of the Tim Missaw Tours agency and the Assekrem refuge. He organizes excursions to the Hoggar, Immidir, Tadrart, Tassili n'Ajjer, Tassilis Tim Missaw, etc., departing from Tamanrasset or Djanet. Tours are by 4x4 or camel, with traditional meals, nights under the stars, and supervision by Tuareg guides who know the region inside out.
