Sofia's central station, in the north of the city, is linked to the city center by streetcars, buses and metro line 2. Arrivals and departures are announced by electronic display panels. Prices vary according to train type (slow, normal or express) and class (1st or 2nd). Trains to Varna and Burgas offer very affordable sleeper cars. Long-distance trains have a platform for bicycles. Comfort is not always a priority.

La gare est devenue un endroit beaucoup plus agréable après avoir été récemment rénovée, mais ses environs restent à éviter de nuit. Pour le moment il y a peu de commerces à l'intérieur et les toilettes au rez-de-chaussée étaient fermées à clé sans explications, donc il fallait descendre au niveau -1. Le service de ventes aux caisses est un peu lent.
