With a terrace under its arbour, a dining room in a picturesque old-fashioned room with wooden ceiling and half-timbering, and a courtyard lined with lime trees, this is a unique address. The house, frequented by the man of letters Elin Pelin, was one of the rallying points of the Bulgarian avant-garde in the 1920s. Today, Pod Lipite is well worth a visit from downtown for its delicious, traditional Bulgarian cuisine. Enjoy soups, cold meats and farmhouse grills. Folk music in the evening.
