This church is surprising because it is half buried under the Tsoum shopping mall. It was built in the early years following the Turkish occupation of Sofia in the th century. The Turkish authorities allowed the construction of a Christian place of worship only provided that it does not exceed a certain height. The th century murals, which represent scenes of the New Testament, are of quality.
The communist system will have been quite right, and here today, ensérée by the boulevard, in a very awkward location. Of, but save and renovated.

Encore une curiosité insolite de Sofia. Elle se dresse en plein milieu du métro Serdika qui a été construit tout autour.
