Monumental colonnaded library near the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.
Close to the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, this monumental colonnaded library was built between 1942 and 1954. It is the National Library of Bulgaria, with more than 3 million books. In 1975, a statue was erected at the entrance in homage to the two book-loving saints who gave their name to the building and who were at the origin of the Cyrillic script. National, this library has dethroned the historic one in Veliko Tărnovo.
