Crypt housing an exceptional collection of icons dating from the to the century.
While the Nevsky Cathedral was ceded in 2014 by the government to the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, the crypt remained an annex of the National Gallery of Art. It is located in the basement of the cathedral and houses an exceptional collection of icons ranging from the ninth to the nineteenth century. Some legends in Bulgarian and English. In the store of the crypt, you can buy a guide in English and reproductions of icons of good quality.
