PARK NA VAZROJDENTSITE (ПАРК ПАРК ПАРК)
A superb, typically Communist park, home to the pantheon of heroes of the National Renaissance.
This superb park, called Renaissance Park, structured in a typically Communist style and register, is dedicated to the fighters who liberated Bulgaria from the Ottoman yoke, and in particular to the martyred revolutionaries who came from the town of Roussé. Close to the town center, you won't want to miss it, and you'll even find yourself using it to get from one district to another, from one point of interest to another, just like the locals. And it's a real pleasure! It's cool and shady in summer, and the vegetation varies with the four seasons. Opposite the old cemetery, the Pantheon of the Heroes of the National Renaissance has been erected here, with its golden dome surmounted by a cross. This memorial contains the bones of 453 revolutionaries and militiamen who took part in the Russo-Turkish war, Chetniks and cultural and educational workers. The monument was inaugurated on February 28, 1978, to mark the 100th anniversary of Bulgaria's liberation from the Ottoman yoke. Among the heroes of Bulgaria under Ottoman rule honored here are Lyuben Karavelov, Zahari Stoyanov, Toma Kardzhiev, Atanas Uzunov and Olimpi Panov. The park is also home to the Orthodox Church of All Saints. In addition to its role as a memorial, the Renaissance Park is a popular haven for strolling, jogging or lounging on the grass in fine weather.
