A museum where numerous scenes from Bulgaria's medieval history are recreated.
At the foot of the Tsarevets hill, this center is dedicated to the rich history of the medieval royal town of Tarnovgrad. Thirty wax figures and frescoes evoke the second Bulgarian kingdom, including monarchs, clergy, boyars, warriors and craftsmen.
A nocturnal sound and light show on the fortress walls takes place several times a month. The projected lights can be seen from afar, free of charge, but the music can only be heard from the glassed-in salon at the entrance.
