Church built between 1859 and 1862, housing tombs with Greek inscriptions.
Spas? It's short for Saviour. Built between 1859 and 1862 by the great Bulgarian architect Nicolas Fitchev (more commonly known as Fitcheto), this ruined church is well worth a visit. Tombstones with Greek inscriptions have been found. The roof was destroyed in the earthquake of 1913. Now abandoned and littered with garbage, we hope it will soon be restored to a decent state. In the meantime, go and see what's left.
