SVETA BOGORODITSA CHURCH
Church featuring icons and woodcarvings by Zahari Zograf, Hadji Georgi and Ivan Spassovski.
In Bulgarian: храм "Успение на Пресвета Богородица". This church dedicated to the Virgin, which is located behind the tourist office, was built in 1817, on the site of an old church destroyed in the late 17th century by the Kardzhalii, Turkish irregular troops, because it was higher than the local mosque. The latter would have been erected in eleven days... Inside you will observe icons and woodcarvings made by Zahari Zograf, Hadji Georgi, and Ivan Spassovski. A beautiful building from every angle.
