FREE PLOVDIV TOUR

Same principle as the Free Sofia Tour. You are invited to follow a themed two-hour guided tour of Plovdiv in English, led by enthusiastic young Bulgarians and endorsed and promoted by the Plovdiv Municipality Tourist Department. Each tour is both fun and educational, a perfect introduction to the city and its thousands of years of history. You follow a route that links the key places of the chosen theme, illustrated with documented remarks and historical anecdotes. The tour is free, but it is customary to make a small donation to the organizing NGO. The Free Tour Plovdiv is a superb option for discovering the city accompanied by an enthusiastic local. In addition to the more general Plovdiv tour, there are two themed tours: one focusing on street art and graffiti, the other on the architectural and artistic remains of communism. You can choose the "classic" tour, which reveals Plovdiv's history through its most representative monuments, from the town hall to the Bogoroditsa church, via the ancient remains and monuments of socialism, the magnificently renovated sites and those still awaiting renovation. You can also discover the city's rich socialist architectural heritage. Finally, the Plovdiv Graffiti Tour is the best way to explore Plovdiv's exciting new street art scene.
