The cathedral was rebuilt in 1837 on the site of the medieval cathedral destroyed by the Turks in the 14th century. The first Bulgarian-language mass was held here in 1859. The tower was added in 1881 after the liberation.

Toujours une église de plus vous direz, mais celle ci située sur le chemin du théâtre sera vous attirer! les couleurs de la façade sont chatoyantes et son intérieur décoré et orné de manière pas trop chargée contrairement aux autres visitées.
