This immense cathedral is now Bulgaria's second-largest church, after Alexander Nevsky in Sofia.
In Bulgarian: Прославлението на св. свещеномъченик Висарион. 382 m² and 32 m high, a dome 17m in diameter, you can see this immense cathedral, inaugurated in 2006, from afar. Today, it's Bulgaria's second-largest church after Sofia's Alexander Nevsky. Its contemporary architecture confirms Smolyan's modern orientation. Of course, it's a must-see building on your visit to the region, and you'll easily find it opposite the planetarium.
