Museum housing a permanent collection comprising an archaeological and ethnographic section.
Housed in a large, massive building dating from the Communist era, in perfect harmony with the town's architecture, the museum's permanent collection includes an archaeological area illustrating the evolution of the region from prehistory through the Thracian period to the Middle Ages. Another area is dedicated to an ethnographic exhibition presenting Rhodope crafts, architecture and rites and customs. An interesting and rewarding visit.
