SAINT ANASTASIA ISLAND (ОСТРОВ СВЕТА АНАСТАСИЯ)
The island is home to a restaurant, monastery, museum, church and guesthouse, all of which have been renovated by the commune.
Until 1944, the island was a prison. During the communist era it took the name "Bolshevik" and in the 1960s and 1980s it was the favourite place of the Bohemians of Bourgas. Since 2014, it is open to the public: it houses a restaurant, a monastery, a museum, a church and a guest house renovated by the municipality. For boat schedules, please inquire at the Tourist Office (Boulevard Hristo Botev, open from 10 am to 7 pm every day in high season).
