SAINT-JEAN-BAPTISTE CHURCH (КРЪСТИТЕЛ СВЕТИ СВЕТИ)
Repeatedly renovated church with superb frescoes from the and centuries.
Renovated several times, the original church (built on the ruins of a Byzantine church) dates from the 10th century. It is a small miracle for Nessebar that it has remained in excellent condition. The church of St. John the Baptist was built of rough stone. The interior, which was covered with plaster at one point in its history, also contains a gallery of fine arts. The superb frescoes from the 14th and 17th centuries are worth a visit.
