This small church, built in 1602, is the oldest in Varna.
In Cyrillic script: храм "Успение на Пресвета Богородица". This small church built in 1602 is the oldest in Varna. It is also called the former church of the Assumption (Virgin Mary). It was half built in the ground because such were the requirements for a Christian temple during the Ottomans.You will not miss to discover it during your visit to Varna. Inside there are some beautiful icons, starting with the one above the entrance.
