This museum is worth spending several hours in, as it holds an extraordinary collection totaling over 6.5 kg of gold from the5th millennium B.C. from the Neolithic necropolis at Lake Varna. The museum presents prehistoric tools and statuettes, as well as sculptures, ceramics, and jewelry of high quality dating from the Roman, Thracian and Greek periods. There is also a beautiful collection of 19th century icons. Brochures in English.

Le bâtiment est imposant et se prête à des concerts en plein air. Malheureusement, la programmation du 11 août 2017 dans le cadre du Festival international de Musique au titre alléchant "Time after Time", classée dans la rubrique Jazz n'a pas convaincu le public qui attendait de la musique de jazz.
