ART GALLERY VARNA
The upper floors of the gallery house permanent collections of paintings by contemporary Bulgarian artists.
In Cyrillic script: Градска Художествена Галерия. The Varna Art Gallery occupies the former secondary school for boys. It is one of the city's most remarkable architectural monuments. This picturesque, romantic building, built in the neo-Gothic style at the end of the 19th century, is located in the city center and offers a very large space with numerous rooms and several interior and exterior courtyards. These are the ideal setting for prestigious cultural and artistic events, including performances, theatrical shows, concerts, fashion shows and more. The second floor of this municipal Fine Arts gallery is dedicated to temporary exhibitions, which change every three weeks. The two upper floors are devoted to the permanent collections, featuring paintings by contemporary Bulgarian artists. An opportunity to appreciate the development of Bulgarian art from the early 20th century to the most modern artistic creations. The permanent exhibition includes collections of Bulgarian classics, as well as unique works of 17th-century Dutch portrait painting donated to the gallery. Bulgarian painters include Vladimir Dimitrov, Ivan Milev and David Peretz. A very fine artistic visit, with a wide variety of works and excellent presentation.
