DOORS OF THE SEA
Two conjoined towers in Tallinn, built to protect the city and impress visitors arriving by sea.
These two joined towers were built to protect the city and to impress visitors arriving by sea. Today, the cannon tower of the Big Margarita houses the Estonian Maritime Museum, which offers its visitors exhibitions on the history of boating and fishing in Estonia. From the roof you can see the city and the bay of Tallinn. Next to the tower is a moving monument of two huge broken arches, which recalls the dramatic sinking of the ferry Estonia in 1994, which killed 852 passengers.
