KIEK IN DE KÖK
Medieval defense tower housing a permanent collection of Tallinn's military history.
Built at the end of the 15th century, this imposing medieval defense tower on one of the slopes of Toompea hill was curiously named Kiek in de Kök (literally "a peek into the kitchen") because, from up there, soldiers could see what was going on in the kitchens of the houses below. Today, the tower houses a permanent collection on Tallinn and the military events that shaped it. There are also temporary exhibitions on photography. Bonus: a visit to the underground passages and bastions.
