COUR DES MAÎTRES (MEISTRITE HOOV)

At the end of a small alley off Via Vene, there's a pretty courtyard surrounded by medieval buildings. It's particularly photogenic, with its large cobblestones and climbing plants clinging to the facades of the houses. The masters in question are in fact craftsmen who all have their studios here, including the famous jeweller Jaan Pärv. The café Chocolaterie (a Tallinn favorite) is also located here, as is Villa Hortensia, an affordable guesthouse.
