RESURRECTION CATHEDRAL
Neo-Byzantine cathedral designed by architect Pavel Alich, featuring numerous icons.
While visiting Narva, be sure to take a look at the Resurrection Cathedral, located not far from the bus station. The cathedral was built between 1890-1898 by order of Alexander III. It is an Estonian Orthodox church in the neo-Byzantine style, under the authority of the Moscow Patriarchate, built according to the plans of the architect Pavel Alich. The building remained almost intact after the bombing in 1944. Today the cathedral houses many icons.
