RAEKOJA FLATS
Tartu's square, rebuilt in the neoclassical style, features a fountain with an evocative sculpture at its center.
Old Tartu, located between the Emajogi River and Toome Hill, is ideal for walking. The square was rebuilt in neoclassical style after the great fire of 1775. Opposite the town hall stands a fountain with a sculpture at its center, evocatively titled The Students' Kiss. Installed here in 1998, it is the work of Mati Karmin and has become a symbol of the city. On the other side, heading towards the river at no. 18, be sure to stop in front of the Leaning House, nicknamed "the local Tower of Pisa".
