CASTLE TOWER
The 30 m high tower stands proudly in the center of Paide, offering a stunning 360-degree view of the city.
In 1265, the Livonian Order built an 8-sided tower, first called "Herman Pikk". At 30 m high, it stands proudly in the center of town, and remains its landmark, as well as the surviving part of the castle that once stood here. Now the Wittenstein Time Centre, you climb to the top in an elevator that acts as a time machine, with each of the eight floors dedicated to a particular era. At the end, there's a stunning 360° view of the town of Paide. As for the castle, it is said to have been destroyed by Ivan the Terrible.
