Museum recounting Estonian history from the beginning of colonization to the proclamation of the Republic of Estonia.
The museum traces the history of the town from its origins to the present day. It was founded by the Société d'archéologie, an association of history buffs. Founded in 1909, the museum was burnt down during the Second World War, damaging part of the collection and many unique objects. Today, the museum presents Estonian history from the beginning of the Mesolithic era to the proclamation of the Republic of Estonia, as well as various exhibitions.
