Now available in every major city in the world, Uber is also available in Amman. As the fare is prepaid, there are no nasty surprises. Using the VTC app in the capital avoids having to negotiate hard with yellow and green cab drivers, especially when you're a tourist. The only difficulty lies in the spelling of street names, which is not always easy to find and often differs from Google Maps. Uber vehicles transport you day and night, but pre-booking is not possible.
