Convent of Benedictine nuns converted into a commercial court, this exhibition space is now dedicated to contemporary art. It bears the name of a great architect of the city. A permanent exhibition is now dedicated to the Korean artist Kim En Joong, whose work adorns the stained glass windows of the Romanesque basilica of Brioude. His monumental paintings are displayed alongside permanent exhibitions, highlighting the work of craftsmen. Regularly, a new temporary exhibition is proposed and allows to discover different artists, artistic trends.

Low season: open Tuesday to Friday and Sunday, 2pm to 6pm; Saturday, 10am to 12:30pm and 2pm to 6pm. July and August: Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 12:30pm and 2pm to 6pm Closed Mondays, May 1st, December 25th, January 1st and between exhibitions. Free admission.

Located in Issoire, the Centre d'Art Jean Prouvé is an exhibition space dedicated to contemporary art. This site, named after the town's famous architect and innovator, is steeped in history. In fact, it was a former convent of Benedictine nuns that was converted into a commercial court. Here, you'll discover the works of Kim En Joong, an internationally renowned artist. His beautiful collections of paintings and ceramics are sure to amaze you. The center also hosts temporary exhibitions by contemporary artists. Big-name and lesser-known creators alike will find the perfect space to showcase their work. A cultural address not to be missed!

TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS AT THE CENTER D'ART JEAN-PROUVÉ
- Exhibition VHS: Very High Sensitivity by artist Motte
Dates: December 16 to March 3, 2024
A visual artist, painter and professional graffiti artist, Motte draws on American culture, hip-hop, pop culture and punk rock to create a rich, multidisciplinary universe.
Thanks to his chromatic sensibility, in his studio he produces works for galleries and exhibitions in a colorful, pop atmosphere, mixing illustration, typography, humor, naive watercolor illustration or realistic inks. His work also leads him to create outdoor murals.
A 36-page catalog has been produced for the occasion.

- Orpailleur de lumière exhibition by artist Claude Legrand
Dates: March 30 to June 9, 2024
Claude Legrand is a contemporary painter from Clermont-Ferrand. A graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts de Clermont-Ferrand, he now divides his time between his studio in Clermont-Ferrand and Saint-Bonnet-de-Condat, in the Cantal region, where he draws many of his inspirations. His work also draws on literature, poetry and music. Claude Legrand's work is often inspired by nature, landscapes and human emotions. He likes to experiment with different media, such as acrylic, oil and watercolor, to create unique and captivating visual effects.

- Chemins vers l'invisible exhibition by artist Nansky
Dates: June 22 to September 22, 2024
In Chemins vers l'invisible (Paths to the Invisible), artist Nansky seeks to bring to life themes that are sometimes difficult to tackle, such as ecology, disease, war and spirituality.
In an astonishing way, and without the aid of figurative art, his paintings allow us to see and feel the invisible. Through color, he reconnects us to the emotional side of each of us, while using abstraction to give us the freedom to let our imaginations speak.
A 48-page catalog has been produced for the occasion.

ART IN THE CITY
Every year, throughout the summer, the town of Issoire offers an original theme-based tour of the town center. This tour, featuring monumental works by a particular artist, will take you through the narrow streets, boulevards and squares of Issoire.
To reach the public, you have to keep reinventing yourself! We then invite the public to vote, from among a selection of works.
The winning work will then become part of the Issoire municipal collection.
It's a great way to make these works your own, and to encourage visitors' curiosity.
Cultural mediation
Isabelle Boto, cultural mediator, offers guided tours of the exhibition and artistic creation workshops for day nurseries, nursery schools, primary schools, secondary schools, leisure centers and groups.
Classes welcome :
Tuesdays, 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm
Thursday and Friday mornings from 9am to 12pm
By appointment only.
Plastic arts workshops :
As part of its exhibitions, the Centre d'art Jean-Prouvé offers art workshops on themes related to the current exhibition.
