This cooperative, located on the road between the fortress of Macheronte and the village of Mukawir, is a weaving centre run by the Bani Hamida Bedouin community. Created in 1985 by a few Bedouin women, it allows women to ensure a complementary income for their families, while perpetuating this craft tradition. Today, nearly 1,600 women from the region, spread over 13 villages, work for the cooperative and weave superb carpets, bags and cushions.
