This domestic airport is closer to the city than Kilimanjaro (international and local flights). It is also older and has only small planes on its tarmac, which serve the main cities of Tanzania for locals but also Zanzibar for tourists. There is a café-restaurant and some souvenir shops. All local airlines offer this route - the choice is vast, compare prices well - including: Zanair, Coastal Aviation, Air Excel, Flight Link, As Salaam Air, Tropical Air, Regional Air Service, Hahn Air, Auric Air. Remember to compare prices with domestic flights to/from Kilimanjaro airport operated by different airlines at different times.
To reach Arusha, either arrange a private transfer with your hotel or take a tuk-tuk from the airport exit to the junction of the main road, then a dala-dala to Arusha.
