Infinitas gracias para Johana and Andrew!

Highly recommend this tour guide. Our tour guide, Jacob was the best tour guide ever and he made sure that our trip was 100% worth it. It was such an unforgettable experience. Plus he tried his best to find and the big 5 animals and explained well whenever we had any doubts. I would love to come back with my family and go with Jacob :))

I had 5days private safari tour with my friends. It was such an amazing. We saw all big 5 during the tour. Our guide who is Jacob made perfect trip for us. He is very humorous and kind. I highly recommend this company & guide!!

We have just returned from a 4-day (group) safari with Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris which encompassed Tarangire NP, Serengeti NP, and Ngorongoro Crater.
In short: What a fantastic trip!
Everything went well from the very start. We wanted to use a local company and cast our net to see what would come back. Kelvin at the office end of things got back to us promptly with some options. Nicely detailed offer which answered pretty much all of the basic questions. We made a few adjustments, which were easily and quickly taken care of, and all inquiries were answered literally within minutes. I tell people that the longest we waited to hear back from Kelvin was five hours, and we think it was because it was a Saturday. Maybe.
As for the safari itself, our driver guide and cook, Robert and Saleem, met us at our hotel and off we went. First stop: Tarangire NP. Within 20 minutes of arriving, we are already seeing wildlife. Elephants galore!
Robert was super friendly, flexible, and a very knowledgeable guide. He was always on the lookout for animals, and he was pretty ‘eagle eyed’ and easily spotted so much. We also liked how all the drivers from all the tour operators worked together, sharing tips and knowledge of locations with each other. Robert was also a fantastic driver; we felt very safe and comfortable despite the bouncing around – all part of the safari experience! When dropping us off at our accommodations, Robert always made sure we were actually checked in and had the room key in our hands before he left us. One night, he stayed at the same place and ate with us. Gotta love the Tanzanian hospitality!
Saleem, our cook, also did a fantastic job, feeding us a fresh hot lunch every day. We saw quite a few other tours with boxed lunches so were grateful for the delicious food Saleem prepared for us. Lots of rice, vegetable curries, chicken, chapati, pizza or chips even, fruits, and some nice coffee to finish off our meal. Amazing what he could come up with the simple facilities and equipment available to him.
We carried on towards the Serengeti, and we saw so SO much – more than we ever expected. We loved our bush camp experience where we saw a big bull elephant coming into the camp, drinking some water, and then carrying on his way. Right before our very eyes! We saw the Big 5 – two different leopards, in fact; one of them twice – and so much more. Countless different birds and smaller animals.
We would definitely recommend Meru Slopes as a safari operator when in Tanzania and would use them again if we are ever lucky enough to return to Tanzania. Please give smaller, local companies a chance instead of making the bigger companies bigger.
PS: Robert, Kelvin and Geoffery were able to get a T-shirt delivered to our hotel after the safari, so that is customer service above and beyond, if you ask me ????
Kasan jema, to Kelvin, Robert and Saleem. Asante sana.

We can highly recommend Meru Slopes Tours. We booked a 6 day private lodge Safari to Tarangire, Serengenti and Ngorongoro National Park and the tour exceeded our expectations in all regards. Our tour guide Nuru in particular contributed to this great experience. He is highly educated, motivated and flexible. Nuru made it possible for us to see all animals we wanted to see: Lions, cheetahs, elephants, leopards, giraffes, zebras, hippos, rhinos, monkeys etc. We could also see these animals all up close. The selected accommodations were also beautiful. The tour car was in great condition. We learned so much about the national parks, the local people, culture and country. Thank you very much!

The company very organized! They picked us up from Kilimanjaro which is more than an hour away! Very polite everyone!
Our guide Jacob was amazing! He basically knew all the natural park roads by heart! He could identify and spot animals super far away!
Dula our chef was also amazing!

Don’t hesitate a second to take this safari agency. Super well organized.
Our guide Patrick was incredible, always smiley and very hakuna matata ???? - he didn’t stop looking for new animales for us to see them and take wonderful pictures. You can feel that he really loves nature and loves his job.
The prices are really competitive for the market and i confirm that every dollar paid was worth it. Thanks to Meru Slopes for organizing such an amazing experience ????????

We had an absolutely incredible 5 days on safari through Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro areas. Mudy was our driver and we got to see some amazing wildlife and very scenic areas. I think we saw every type of wildlife we had wanted. Really appreciate Meru Slopes for planning and operating our safari. Would highly recommend.

We had a great experience on the camping/budget 4 day / 3 night safari in Serengeti, ngorongoro, and tarangire. Our itinerary was switched around the morning of, to match us up with other travellers who started a day before us. It didn’t cause any problems but just FYI the order of your tour could change if you’re doing a shared safari.
Andrew was our guide and he was 10/10 excellent. Organized, friendly, communicative, and knowledgeable, I would very highly recommend him. Moshi was our cook and he went absolutely above and beyond. Not only was our food delicious and plentiful the whole time, he was such a delight to have around! (I have had mediocre safari guides and food in the past so can say with confidence these guys are the best).
Camping for 2 nights of the tour is cool as there can be animals roaming around near the tents but the facilities were pretty grim. Yes it’s camping but for the price of the tour it was disappointing to have no toilet paper or soap in the washroom facilities. The sleeping bags do not get washed which is quite gross. The fanaka lodge the third night was quite nice and had a pool.
Geofrey was nice and easy to communicate with leading up to the safari.
For some general recommendations if you’re planning your safari, from our experience, we didn’t see too many animals in Serengeti or tarangire. We saw lots in the ngorongoro crater. I’m sure part of it is luck/the specific day, but part of what we’ve learned is that animal sightings are easier/better in the dry season! Also in these parks the drivers can’t go off road so some animal sightings are quite far away. The drivers have binoculars to pass around but if you want good photos you’ll need a decent camera.

Need a Guide? Robert is your man!
I would like to share my exceptional experience with our tour guide Robert, who led us on an unforgettable safari through some of Tanzania's most breathtaking locations: Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara.
From the very first moment we started our journey, Robert proved to be a treasure trove of knowledge and passion for nature and wildlife. His expertise and attention to detail allowed us to observe the most spectacular animals in their natural habitats, from the majestic elephants in Tarangire to the rare black rhinos in the Ngorongoro Crater.
A particular highlight of our trip was undoubtedly when we saw the illustrious Big Five within just three hours, a rare and unforgettable feat that attests to Robert's exceptional skills and knowledge of the area. This experience alone exceeded our expectations and highlighted Robert's expertise and commitment to providing us with the best possible safari experience.
Robert was not only extremely professional and knowledgeable but also incredibly welcoming and attentive to our needs. He ensured that each day ran smoothly, tailored to our preferences and comfort levels, making our experience even more personal and memorable.
His ability to interpret the movements and behavior of animals enriched our safari with fascinating insights and educational moments, making every wildlife encounter a unique experience. Moreover, Robert found the perfect balance between adventurous exploration and safety, making us always feel at ease and protected.
Robert's passion for conservation and the welfare of animals was evident and contagious. He shared stories and knowledge that deepened our appreciation for conservation and the complexity of these ecosystems. His commitment to sustainable tourism and respect for the natural world was both inspiring and admirable.
In conclusion, our safari with Robert was an incomparable experience that we will never forget. His expertise, warmth, and dedication made our trip unforgettable. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for an authentic and enriching safari experience in Tanzania. Without a doubt, Robert exceeded our expectations and provided us with memories that we will cherish forever.

Firstly I have to give 5 stars for our guide (Andrew) and chef (Moshi). I can say with confidence that they made the tour amazing. Moshi was so friendly, fun and most importantly made the best food for us. Andrew was well organised, provided so much info, was always smiling and engaging with the group and most importantly lead us to the animals and had some inhuman ability to spot so many animals while also driving that the rest of us often couldn’t even see with our eyes. We met other guides and spoke to other travellers about their guides and we got the feeling all were not equal so if you get the chance to go with Andrew, take it.
The company itself were good and easy to deal with, had decent vehicles and equipment so no complaints at all.
With the tour schedule, we did 4 days 3 nights. First day was about 7 hours driving to Serengeti however half of that was in various wildlife areas so you do see animals on the way. The afternoon was in the Serengeti although it is via a common route mainly for the benefit of getting to the camp. The camp was very basic, which we knew going into it, but was a great experience as animals roam the campsite at night as there are no fences. The next day was half day drive in Serengeti before heading off to Ngorongoro campsite which was about 5 hours (still seeing animals during the drive). Overall the Serengeti was okay but it’s so large and already out that we didn’t see that any animals and o would recommend having a full day there instead of what we did as you then go further and should see more. Also wet season should be avoided if possible as ou see so many less animals- grass is too high and animals don’t congregate at watering holes. Day 3 at Ngorongoro was by far the best and the highlight for everyone. The crater itself is a view to behold but more importantly the quantity / density of animals, the fact they cant / don’t generally leave due to the crater walls, the flatness (easier to see animals) and the small size so easy to get around makes it perfect for wildlife spotting. It is relatively small though so 1 full day or a half day is all that is required. We then stayed in a decent lodge on our last night before visiting Tarangire NP for half day on day 4. I would say animal spotting was similar to Serengeti (probably not great for us due to it being wet season) but it’s still nice and has a great landscape which includes the large boboar?? trees.
We were super lucky to see the big 5 during this trip with the most elusive, leopard, spotted once on our last day in Tarangire literally in the last 15 minutes as we were driving out.

It was an incredible experience. We did the 4 day tour and it was amazing, I really recommend doing it with Meru Slopes. The atención was super good, the food delicious, the driver (Florian) explained each animal and answer all of our question, he was really nice and patient. We were 4 women and we always felt safe.

We had a fantastic safari with Mudy and Gideon. Serengeti and Ngorogoro are very popular, so the ability of your driver to position your vehicle to get the best views of the animals is crucial. Of course there’s luck involved, but we saw more, and from closer, than others. This was due to our driver’s excellent skills.
Strongly recommend this company if you’re serious about seeing as much as you can. We took the five day group camping option, were very comfortable and ate well. Great value.

We did a four day safari tour with Meru Slopes Tours in January. We had an amazing time. We spent one day in Tarangire NP, two days in Serengeti NP and our final day in Ngorongoro Crater - it was absolutely fabulous. We saw many different animals and species and were so surprised to see how close the animals came to us.
Meru Slopes took care of all our travel and food and also transfers to and from the airport - we felt very safe and well looked after at all times.
Our driver Muddi was brilliant. He had so much knowledge of the beautiful areas we visited and shared alot of information with us about the many different animals and species. He was such a nice tour guide and was always so happy. He made sure that we enjoyed ourselves so much and was so determined for us to see the big 5 - which we did. Thanks for everything Muddi.
We would recommend Meru Slopes Tours and Muddi to look after any travellers for your Safari.

We booked a 7-day Safari an it was amazing.
Our Guide Florian was really friendly, explained a lot about the animals and cared about all our issues. He managed the sometimes very bumpy and muddy roads really well and we always felt very safe with him.
He made our safari special!
Our cook Gary also was really good! He provided us with the best food and also took care of our issues. They both were really amazing! Asante sana!

We participated in the five day and four night tent safari with Meru Slopes in January 2024. I was able to message Geofrey via WhatsApp to answer all my questions and the communication and organisation was super easy and efficient!
We had a great Safari - despite a lot of rain we were able to see the big five and camping outside in the middle of nature was an experience I'll never forget. A huge thank you goes to our incredible driver Florian, who coped with extremely muddy and challenging road conditions extrodinarily well, always made us feel safe and helped to spot a lot of animals!

I think in this kind of experiences, the staff is a key element; and I am happy to say were lucky! Our chef Yohana went beyond expectations; he knew my husband was sick, and he helped every morning and night providing extra hot water and citric fruit that were good for his condition. He cooked the most delicious meals, but I think he's attitude was the most important for us ????. Our chofer and guide was Andrew, and he was a fun and knowledgeable guy; not only took us to the best places so we could spot cheetahs, lions and other animals, but he was a great driver and that's also highly appreciated. We saw a couple of cars stuck in mud, with broken tires or others, and luckily it was not our case.
We were lucky to have a good car that even had a plug.
We had a wonderful experience, and more than the amazing fauna and nature we saw, that's something we are thankful for to Yohana and Andrew.
