Excellent value for money in a friendly, country atmosphere, on the banks of the Themi River, which flows a little lower down. This small, eco-friendly restaurant is run by a community of women who have been damaged by life and is supported by an Italian NGO. For a handful of shillings, you will be served a nice plate of vegetables (spinach, beans, lentils...) with delicious eggplant cakes and unlimited fruit juice. Everything is grown on site, in the association's vegetable garden. Closed in the evening and at weekends.

My husband and I were referred by Green Garden Hostel. The menu very simply put was simply wonderful. Beautiful rice dish and a vegetable casserole with lovely spices in it. Beans and a spinach dish that exploded flavour with the hot sauce. Wonderfully situated in the trees with artists surrounding and creating. A relaxed atmosphere and eco consciousness that really impressed me.
