CAMPS PUBLICS ET RESTHOUSE TANAPA
In Seronera. There is one resthouse and eight public Tanapa camps: Nyani, Pimbi, Tumbili, Dik Dik, Nguchiro, Ngiri, Kuro and Nyegere, which are open to all, without booking, as opposed to the private camps which are reserved exclusively for safari agencies. Nyani, Tumbili and Pimbi are the most popular, both overcrowded in high season and in the heart of the richest wildlife area, you will be torn between the uncomfortable, rustic and dirty sanitary facilities and the wilderness setting with the roar of the lions and the cries of the hyenas in the night. Be sure to bring toilet paper, flip-flops to get into the shower, expect cold water, bring a stove and food, a flashlight, etc. The resthouse offers three very basic rooms in Seronera with mosquito nets and shared sanitary facilities in this "resthouse". Often full, suitable for individuals rather than large groups.
At the northern gate of the park. There is the Fort Ikoma campsite, a basic camp (cold water sanitary facilities, cooking area) next to the Fort Ikoma gate, north-west of the park, in the Grumeti area. Cafeteria at the gate. But also the Lobo Campsite, in the north-east of the country, in the part called Lobo Kopjes, rich in lions.
