Agency offering trekking in remote areas of the Rift Valley, around little frequented lakes and Lake Natron.

This niche agency offers trekking tours in very remote areas of the Rift Valley, around little-visited lakes such as the crater of Lake Empakaï, where it has a camp. But also the famous Lake Natron, which at certain periods takes on incredible red hues. Between the two, the agency also has another camp. It is possible to vary the itinerary up to 5 days of trekking with cultural encounters with the Maasai.

Epic. What a fantastic place to visit, with so much to do. With everything from bathing in hot springs to trekking through canyons, climbing waterfalls, waking up to zebras outside your tent.

Lake Natron camp is a really nice place and I would highly recommend this place. BUT we were really very much disappointed with the entire experience here by lake Natron. After a long drive we came in the evening and wanted to go for a walk to the waterfall. Just my partner and I. We are experienced hikers and we always have good hiking maps downloaded. But 20 minutes walk to the waterfall was a problem because we were followed by the local guide and we were forced to get his services which we did not want. He just wanted to get money out of us. The next morning we got up at 5 am to watch the sunrise by lake Natron. The same local guide followed us all morning and was forcing us to get a guide (to pay him money). He was really REALLY ANNOYING!!!!!! We did not want his services. Lake Natron is just 10 minutes walk to see the flamengoes. You can easily do it on your own if you prefer the privacy which we like. He threatened us and told us he will call the police. He also said we will be attacked by local people if we do not give them money. We were shocked and afraid of your lives because everybody carries a machete there. We literally spent in the park 10 hours including 7 hours of sleep and wanted to do 2 short 20 minute walks (to the waterfall and the lake). The entrance fee in the park was more than $200 which is not cheap for less than 24 hour visit. The entire situation was very stressful. We decided to go back to the entrance gate and asked for security. We felt unsafe. The government paid park ranger was very helpful and send them away. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO PAY ANY SERVICES BY LOCAL TOURISM COMPANY AT THIS SPECIFIC PLACE. (LAKE NATRON). I have been living in Tanzania for more than a year volunteering and supporting local people but this was a really threatening experience. It was very sad.

We were booked for 4 nights from 8 to 12 June 2022 but had to leave after 1 night; the camp is not properly cleaned and maintained.
The tents are dirty, carpets are worn, the water running to a trickle.
The waterless and composting toilets were a stinking stench.
We would have expected a clean tent for a 4 night stay !
I almost got bit by a big centipede when walking inside the tent.
The place by the river where one is expected to relax and have your feet cleaned by small tibia fish is completely run down. Cushions are worn out and there is layer of sticky alkaline salts on all the mattresses and chairs.
The food served is very basic and the morning breakfast fruit were not clean.
I can only qualify this camp as a dump.
This camp was part of safari trip I organised from my wife's birthday.
I felt so embarrassed for her that I would have left immediately so I had been able to!
Unless, you are used to rough camping, stay away from this camp. Until it is completely overhauled.
